Pick up an issue this Friday!
Featuring student street style, sand volleyball, an interview with Fashion Week Model Liason Joe Quinn, a story about a student who stripped to help pay for college, and more.
CofC Students! Shoot us a message if you’re interested in writing for our next issue, coming out March 23. We have a ton of interesting topics in mind for content, and would love to include your voice.
Some fun ideas we’ve discussed:
-Student Fashion: Sartorialist Style
-Themed Spring Parties
-Professors with odd jobs and hobbies
-Charleston outdoor activities
-Have an idea? Let us know!
Next month, we’ll be profiling a few student artists who were accepted into the Young Contemporaries Student Exhibition. We’re thinking of finding five different students to profile five different artists. If you, CofC student, are interested in writing a profile of about 500 words, then holla! (ie. send us a message)
On another note, Charleston City Paper recognized us for our covers and content in the last semester: http://www.charlestoncitypaper.com/charleston/best-magazine-covers-besides-ours/BestOf?oid=4032124
…thanks to a great team of staff and contributors for making this possible!
Click on the photo to read a feature about Charleston electronic and dubstep producer Jared Parfrey, a CofC grad who overcame the odds to become successful.
A preview of what’s to come: tribal swimsuit fashion, a profile of an artist, a student’s reflection from a trip to Kenya, and how one Charleston electronic producer climbed to the top of the charts on a ladder built from rungs of misfortune.
Here at the office, it is 3:24 a.m. and we are still at work! Could not be more exited to see this issue in print. G Magazine just keeps getting better.
Students! Come to the George Street Observer (now Cisternyard.com and G Magazine) weekly contributors meeting today, Sunday, at 5 p.m, in the Calhoun Annex. We are upstairs.
We will hand out assignments for articles to write for the web and for G. It’s a great time to pitch ideas and learn more about opportunities for involvement.
We have three paid staff positions still open for a News Writer, Columnist, and a Design Editor, to format and design G using Adobe Indesign.
A note from the editor-in-chief. LOLZ.
It’s from behind the scenes of the cover shoot last night. Real cover coming soon…
Up next, the second annual sex and dating issue! Featuring the fantastic fashion photography of Nikki Scioscia.
Recipes for tasty breakfasts, a sports preview, and an article about the Rocky Horror Picture Show also in the works.
Pick up a copy this Thursday.
